OPEN STUDIO 2022

INTERVENCIÓN20-12

The artwork is presented as a way to come out. It inhabits the territory seeking to generate a place of possibility and resistance.

It is conceived from vertigo, from the plane of the unconscious, the indirect paths, from that which is hidden.

The work starts from a temporary precarious syntheses that do not serve any purpose. The combinations that the parts form when they settle or fall are nothing more than a reflection of their need. Chance in one foul sweep.

The organic elements flow in a free and uncontrolled way generating a certain tension with the limited rigidity of the material.

The work is happening/ evolving/ progressing, a process in continuous transformation, passive compositions that are mutating and distorting/ disfiguring.

There is a constant balance between two bodies or two situations in continuous movement, instability.

The work searches its own language, the gesture is deformed, it is pushed to the limit, seeking to break the structures of space.

An excessive task that is not marked by any event, perhaps by loneliness

Carmen Mora

OPEN STUDIO 2022

24 – 27 February 2022

Carmen Mora represented by the gallery Espacio Valverde was selected in the VII Edition of OPEN STUDIO 2022. Participating in the festival of visual art means the opening to the public of Mora´s studio to see her work, including the intervention of her studio.

In Intervención 20-12, during the lockdown of 2020-21 imposed due to COVID-19, Mora invaded the space of her studio with a volumetric work that activates the floor, ceiling and walls, making use of construction waste from the works carried out in her house.
