‘Ínsula’ proposes an invasion of the most inextricable aspects of nature, the physical universe in its most archaic form which cannot be domesticated.

 

Pre-modern mentality conceived human settlements as fragile islands surrounded by a vast and never-ending nature. This psychological relationship has now reversed, as it is nature which seems to be insular as it moves away to the ‘zoo’, or towards that extended version of the zoo which we call nature reserve, as the world of civilised humankind is increasingly turning into the all-encompassing framework. 

 

The work invites to invade and be invaded, to think about rocks, caves and meteors, to put our everyday reality on hold for a moment and become lost in a game of perceptions, questions and daydreams.
